HAPPY EASTER

As it is Good Friday today, I thought it is a nice Idea to wish you all a Happy Easter and share our plant dyed egg recipe with you.

Children love it, my little one certainly did.
All you need is a spoonful of cider vinegar and some plant dye. You can use some fennel or other small plants for prints. Simply press a flower onto the egg and wrap it in onion skins, or use rubber bands for making stripes.

Suitable dyes:

Madder- red
Logwood - dark purple
Onion skins - orange
Paprika - soft yellow/peach
Tumeric - yellow
If you have some time, soak the Madder/Logwood in water for 1-2 hours, than bring to the boil. Otherwise, just add 2-3 tablespoons of your chosen dye to cold water, add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and eggs. bring to the boil and cook until the eggs are done. Enjoy :)
